There are several salon products that are made to help with this problem. I have curly wavy hair and have a hard time straightening it especially in the humid weather. Joico makes some good products for straightening the hair. Try the silk results thermal products they work great and will protect your hair from some of the damage done by straightening. Look for products that help with the humidity as well and try to stay clear of products that contain a high amount of silicone. This will make your hair look great but in time will smother the hair and make it dry and unhealthy. There are also shampoos and conditioners that help as well. Redken makes smooth down, and Paul Mitchell has super skinny. These products actually shrink the diameter of the hair and locks out moisture from getting in and expanding the hair. Try to stay away from chemically straightening your hair, this is the most damaging service you can do to hair. I refuse to offer this service at my salon for this reason. It causes a lot of breakage and drys the hair out. Good luck to you I hope this helps.

ok NEVER get your hair permanently straightened, because sometimes it may burn and then you will have to cut it off. I also have wavy hair and i use a ceramic iron. when you come out of the shower you should immediently blowdry it a little. After that you straighten it. Probably do that a couple times a week

like everything else you have to train your hair to do what you want it. also invest on a CHI ceramic iron. and always se a thermal defense when you apply heat to your hair.

this will work b/c my hair is like yours. when you get out of the shower brush your hair out gently, and then put in a straightening balm, and blow dry it straight. when the hair is all dry it most likey will not be as straight as you want it so go over it then with a ceramic/ionic hair straightener. Then when your done spray it with frizz-ease glossing mist.

Straighten it in small sections. Use Alterna Straightening Startch.That will keep it straight for days. And it smells delicious. It is sort of expensive. But its worth it. Make sure your hair is completely dry befor you try to straighten it. Dont use wet straighteners b.c. they make your hair poof out.

Hmmm... you could get a straightner, but if it frizzes upthan use frizz resistance creams. it's safe for hair and it's healthy.(I did it on my hair.)

Get a perm. I got my first perm 3 weeks ago (and I have the frizziest thickest hair) and I was scared because a LOT of people told me that it was going to burn like crazy!!! But they were wrong, it didn't burn at all. I asked my hairstylist if it would burn she asked me if scratched it I said no. It turns out that if you scratch it you will open up your pores and the chemical will get in it and it will burn BAD!!!!!!!!!!

DON'T STRAIGHTEN IT!!!!! I have wavy hair too, and i love it! be proud, we're in the minority:) However, if you MUST, go to Sally's Hair salon and buy a ceramic straightner. I'm told they don't do as much damage.

Keep training it. Mines was like that. Now it does whatever I want it to. you have to have patience.
